Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Muscogee Red Stick Society is threefold - historical, supportive, and assistance.

Historical: We are Americans of Muscogee ancestry. It is imperative that a written and continually updated record of Muscogee (Creek) men's combat service be preserved for the future. Currently, we are working on documenting the experiences of Red Sticks who served in combat between WWII and the present. This decision was based upon the fact that from this time period, there is more accessible data from which to start. We plan to go as far back in our Tribe's history as possible. Most of the historical information will be verbal, which has been found to be very reliable. One's family history and tapestry are considered sacred. It is the desire of the Muscogee Red Stick Society to gather information, biographies and pictures, and to produce a book that is thorough and professional and will be available within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and to the general public as well, for the purpose of preserving our history. Throughout the years and decades, much of the historical material compiled has been lost, or returned to the original owner, without a permanent written trace. In this new era of information databases and communications, gathering and categorizing such historical information will be much more rapid. The storage of the information will be staged in various locations to guarantee duplicates in case of loss, ensuring that our history is preserved for our descendants; there are many brave and distinguished stories to be told and archived. Muscogee men have fought with honor and sacrificed for our Land, and when future American generations look back with curiosity, they will have their questions answered; we owe this to them. Please, God, let us be remembered.

Supportive: We are American Combat Veterans. We have and will support American men when they go into battle. The time for debate is only before the war. When American men are committed to battle, their support supersedes all other concerns. American men have experienced combat at various times backed by full support, partial support, and, sometimes, very little support from Stateside. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines fully know what events are taking place back in America. The effect on their morale is tremendous and must not to be underscored or taken for granted. The Muscogee Red Stick Society has and will continue to support combat personnel with letters, care packages, family support, or other means we decide are necessary. We have fought alongside with Red, Yellow, Black, White, and Brown Americans. We are all Americans, and all will be supported. From our experiences and from what we have witnessed, we support our American men when in battle no matter what the circumstances. We do not want or yearn for War. We do, however, recognize that while unfortunate, there is a high probability that Wars will involve American men in the future. Our American Forces need to be supported before, during, and after the War in which they fight. All we pray and wish for is they come back to us safely, with victory and honor. We are the Muscogee Red Stick Society's Combat Veterans representing WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and we have earned the right to support and defend our Country.

Assistance: It is the responsibility of this Society to assist its Warrior Members in attaining success, achievement, and development. We do everything possible to assist in securing what was earned, not given or granted, by their sacrifices in combat. From rectifying problems with their military records, securing awards or commendations misplaced, overlooked, or otherwise, to preparing paperwork in order for the Veterans Administration to finally award the proper medical coverage and/or disability claim. We have not, and will not, accept any funds for operating and development from any local, state, federal, or tribal government agency. Furthermore, we will not accept any donation from any person, source, or other entity. The only funding authorized are donations by the Muscogee Red Stick Society's Warrior Members. There are no, nor will there be any, dues, tithing, fund-raising events, or other financial requirements placed upon the Warrior Members. We applaud and assist the Warrior Members in their individual business endeavors. The Muscogee Red Stick Society will endorse and recommend its Warrior Members' businesses when approved. The best and most recent example of our willingness to assist our Warrior Members to succeed is the for sale print titled "Vanguard of the Land," which is endorsed and recommended by the Muscogee Red Stick Society. From the proceeds of the sales, a portion will be donated to the Muscogee Red Stick Society. For future Red Sticks, we establish mandates and permanence to secure their success, achievement, and development.
